Who collects your information

Thaiphoon Restaurant, 543 Emerson St, Palo Alto, CA 94301. Questions and privacy requests: thaiphoonpaloalto@gmail.com or (650) 323-7700.

What we collect and why

When you book a table or request catering, we collect the contact details and request information you provide so we can respond, arrange service, verify your phone number, and send related messages. Those requests do not automatically subscribe you to promotional emails.

The promotional signup collects your email address, the form you used, your consent wording and notice version, and request, confirmation, and unsubscribe timestamps. We use this information to send the monthly promotions and special offers you choose to receive and to keep a record of your preferences. We also process limited technical request information for security and abuse prevention.

Your choice to subscribe

Signing up is optional. The consent box starts unchecked. We send an email asking you to confirm ownership of the address; you are added to the active promotional list only after confirmation. You can book or inquire about catering without subscribing. We do not use past reservation or catering emails as proof of marketing consent.

Unsubscribe whenever you like

Use the unsubscribe link in a promotional email and select Unsubscribe on the page, without logging in. Our system records the preference immediately. You can also contact us using the details above. Opting out of promotions does not stop service messages about a reservation or catering request. A fresh, confirmed signup is required to subscribe again.

Service providers and access

Authorized restaurant staff can view contact information and subscription status. The site uses Google Firebase for storage and authentication, Vercel for hosting and site analytics, our email provider for email delivery, and Twilio for phone verification and enabled service texts. These providers process information to support those services. This mailing-list feature does not sell contact information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or add advertising tracking pixels to signup emails.

Retention and protection

Unconfirmed new promotional signups expire from the mailing-list store after 30 days through scheduled cleanup. Confirmed subscriptions remain until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. We retain consent history and a minimum unsubscribe record as needed to respect your choice, prevent accidental re-enrollment, and meet applicable obligations. Reservation and catering records have separate service and recordkeeping purposes; leaving the promotional list does not delete them.

We restrict mailing-list access to authenticated staff and server operations, use encrypted connections, and do not expose the list publicly. Please do not submit payment details, government identifiers, or sensitive personal information through the signup form.

Access, correction, and deletion requests

Contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information, or to ask about our practices. We may need to verify your identity before disclosing or deleting records. Rights and exceptions depend on applicable law; we do not require you to waive your rights to use this site. To protect your opt-out, a limited suppression record may need to remain after deletion.

Local storage, analytics, and browser choices

We save a local preference in your browser to avoid repeatedly showing the promotion popup. The site also uses storage for staff authentication and reservation workflows. Vercel site analytics helps us understand site use; the email preference page is excluded from these analytics. We do not add your signup email address to analytics events. We omit these analytics when your browser sends Do Not Track or enables Global Privacy Control. This signup feature does not enable third-party advertising trackers. External links take you to services with their own privacy practices.

Children and updates

The promotional list is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. Contact us if a child’s information has been submitted. We will update this notice when practices change and display the new effective date here.
